If you're solving for I, then that means you need to get it by itself in one side, right?
then divide both sides by W and you'll get
I= A/W
which means that I is the division of A by W.
I hope this is the answer you're looking for!

How does finding the square root of a number compare to finding the cube root of a number? Use the number 64 in your explanation
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

To find the cube root of a number is a bit more complicated and in our days is considered impractical, but here is a method explained. Look at the 2nd example scrolling down about 1/3 of the page

If you want to know the concept of square roots and cube roots ?

the square root of a number is that number which when multiplied by itself two times gives us that number

e.g.

√64 = x , so that (x)(x) = 64

and from our multiplication table we know that

(8)(8) = 64 , so that

√64 = 8

the cube root of a number is that number which when multiplied by itself three times gives us that number

e.g.

∛64 = x , so that (x)(x)(x) = 64 , and thus x = 4 because 4x4x4 = 64

so ∛64 = 4

for 9 I wrote Any decimal which terminates is rational

any decimal which does not show any repeating decimals and which is never-ending is irrational

Part B
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

Part A) The length of a straight line between the school and the Fire Station is 4.6\ miles

Part B) The length of a straight line between the school and the hospital is 2.1\ miles

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The complete question in the attached figure</em></u>

Let

The positive x-coordinates ----> East

The positive y-coordinates ----> North

The negative x-coordinates ----> West

The negative y-coordinates ----> South

take the point A (0,0) as the Middle School (reference point)

Part A) we have

Town Hall is located 4.3 miles directly east of the Middle School

so

The coordinates of Town Hall are B(4.3,0)

The Fire Station is located 1.7 miles directly North of Town Hall

so

The coordinates of Fire Station are C(4.3,1.7)

What is the length of a straight line between the school and the Fire Station?

Remember that

the formula to calculate the distance between two points is equal to

d=\sqrt{(y2-y1)^{2}+(x2-x1)^{2}}

we have

A(0,0) and C(4.3,1.7)

substitute

d=\sqrt{(1.7-0)^{2}+(4.3-0)^{2}}

d=\sqrt{(1.7)^{2}+(4.3)^{2}}

d=4.6\ miles

Part B) we have that

The hospital is 3.1 miles west of the fire station

so

The coordinates of the hospital are D(4.3-3.1,1.7)

D(1.2,1.7)

What is the length of a straight line between the school and the hospital?

Remember that

the formula to calculate the distance between two points is equal to

d=\sqrt{(y2-y1)^{2}+(x2-x1)^{2}}

we have

A(0,0) and D(1.2,1.7)

substitute

d=\sqrt{(1.7-0)^{2}+(1.2-0)^{2}}

d=\sqrt{(1.7)^{2}+(1.2)^{2}}

d=2.1\ miles

The drama club is planning a field
Inessa [10]

Answer:

\frac{2}{3}s+8=48.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • If we indicate the amount of students in the drama club as"s", we know that \frac{2}{3}s is attending to the trip.
  • We also know that there are will be 8 teachers in the trip as well.
  • If the total amount of persons that will go on the trip reachs 48, which is the sum of 8 teachers and the \frac{2}{3}s of the students: \frac{2}{3}s+8=48.
  • Then, the equation that describes the situation is \frac{2}{3}s+8=48. If we subtract 8 from both sides of the equation, and then we have \frac{2}{3}s=40, which means that s=60.

An isosceles triangle has an angle that measures 90°. Which other angles could be in that isosceles triangle? Choose all that ap
Lena [83]

An isosceles triangle is a triangle with two equal sides. Since, one of the angles is 90 degrees. Then, the 2 remaining must equal 90 because the total of the triangle should be 180 degrees. So, I think 45 degrees is the only one we can use here because 45 + 45 = 90 degrees.
