Work backwards from vertex form. Vertex form of a quadratic equation/parabola is the following:

f(x) = a(x - h)² + k, where (h, k) is the vertex.

f(x) = a(x - 6)² - 9

Now, plug in the point that you're given to SOLVE FOR A. Remember that f(x) is just another way of writing y.

8 = a(1)² - 9
8 = a - 9
a = 17

So, plug in a = 17 into the equation.

<span>f(x) = 17(x - 6)² - 9 ←← your answer.

Linear, because the graph of the line is just a straight line without any curves, and the power of x is 1. If x was raised to the second, third, fourth, etc. power, it would be a nonlinear equation.

Find the slope between the points. (4,-2) and (8,5)
aksik [14]
Slope = m

Equation to find slope is:

m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

2 points:
(4,-2) 4 = x1 and -2 = y1
(8,5) 8 = x2 and 5 = y2

So...

m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

m = (5 - (-2)) / (8 - 4)

m = 7 / 4 or 1.75

Therefore, the slope of the line is 7/4 OR 1.75.

Malik wanted to make a cube frame out of a long wire 150 cm. If the volume of the cube is 2 197 cm³, is the length of the wire s
Rama09 [41]

Answer:

The wire is sufficient for making a cube of volume 2197 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of cube = L³

Volume of the cube = 2197 cm³

Length of the wire = 150 cm

Let's see if the wire is sufficient for making a cube.

Volume of the cube that could be made from the wire is:

V = (L)³

V = (150)³

V = 3,375,000 cm³

So,

The volume of the cube using a 150 cm length wire is much more grater than 2197 cm³.

That is why, the wire is sufficient for making a cube of volume 2197 cm³.

Which integer is closest to 0 on the number line?
Elenna [48]
The answer is C, 1.
In a number line, the larger number it gets, the more of the right side they're. The smaller the number, the more left side they get.
So, on a number line, 1 is just at the right side of 0, all the other options are at least one more place away from 0.
