The usual first step of the Presidential Election Process is the primary elections and caucuses. Because these steps are the steps to select a presidential nominee. In the primaries people use the secret ballots method for voting, in the caucuses method, voters vote at the end of the meeting. These are the first steps, next comes the nominating conventions which the political parties select a nominee.
