The problems are quite easy to solve once you know the trick! I prefer to make mine improper fractions first, and then after solving turn it back into a mixed number. When you turn it into an improper fraction, you will have 21/4+4/3. Then, you can find the least common factor, which is 12, and multiply the numerator and denominator to make the denominator 12. Afterwards, you simply add the numerators, giving you 79/12. Finally, we must turn this back into a mixed number, so our final answer is 6 7/12.
