It is mentioned that the rate is constant at $85 per hour. Since, on Wednesday, Nita worked for 8 hours, she would earn 85*8 = $680. In addition to this, she also received a tip of $12. Thus, she earned a total of $680 + $12 = $692.

You don’t know how long or how much she got paid an hour on Monday.  All you know is:

h = total number of hours she babysat on Monday, and she made $85.

Let r = the rate she got paid per hour on Monday, then rh = 85, and then r = 85/h

On Wednesday she babysat 8 hours at the same rate of 85/h and got an additional $12

The expression for how much she made on Wednesday is:   8(85/h) + 12

The annual salaries of employees in a large company are approximately normally distributed with a mean of $50,000 and a standard
Lena [83]

Answer:

The probability of randomly selecting one employee who earned less than or equal to $45,000=0.00621

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Mean,\mu=50000

Standard deviation,\sigma=2000

We have to find the probability of randomly selecting one employee who earned less than or equal to $45,000.

P(x\leq 45000)=P(\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}\leq \frac{45000-50000}{2000})

P(x\leq 45000)=P(Z\leq-\frac{5000}{2000})

P(x\leq 45000)=P(Z\leq -2.5)

P(x\leq 45000)=0.00621

Hence,  the probability of randomly selecting one employee who earned less than or equal to $45,000=0.00621
