The habitual pitch is the term which is used to define the average pitch that a person uses to speak or it is the fundamental frequency that is used by the person. It is the highness or lowness of the voice used for the purpose of conversation by the person. Optimum pitch is the level at which the voice is most suitable for comfortable speaking. Voice strain or pathology will occur when the habitual pitch is different from the optimal pitch.
