<span>Let the measure of each side of the hexagon be x units. Therefore the perimeter of the original hexagon = 6x units -----(1) Now, the new hexagon is created by a scale factor of 75. We multiply each side of the hexagon with the scale factor 75. Therefore, the measure of each side of the new hexagon is 75x. The perimeter of the new hexagon = 6 * 75x -----(2) Divide equation (2) by equation (1) 6 * 75x/6x =75 Therefore, when a regular hexagon is dilated by a scale factor, the perimeter of the hexagon is also dilated by the same scale factor.</span>

Let the length of the original hexagon be x:
the perimeter of the hexagon will be:
P=length*number of sides
P=6*x=6x
After the dilation the new length became:
length=scale factor × original length
=75 × x
=75x
thus the new perimeter will be:
6×75x
=450x
hence the new perimeter compared to the old one will be:
450x/6x
=75
the new perimeter is 75 times the old one

(a) Work out the reciprocal of 1.25
Oxana [17]

Answer:

0.8 OR \frac{4}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

The reciprocal of any number is the number that it multiplies by to equal 1.

The reciprocal can be found by simply converting the number into a fraction and then 'flipping' the fraction as any number multiplied by its reciprocal is 1.

E.g.

No. X/Y * Y/X (its reciprocal) = 1

\frac{x}{y} *\frac{y}{x} =\frac{xy}{xy} =1

So, to find the reciprocal of 1.25,we should first convert 1.25 to a fraction.

1.25 = 125/100

\frac{125/25}{100/25}=\frac{5}{4}

Now we just flip 5/4 to get our reciprocal:

\frac{4}{5} = 0.8

Test: 0.8 * 1.25 = 1

The reciprocal of 1.25 (\frac{5}{4}) is 0.8 (\frac{4}{5}).

Hope this helped!

vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

a. x1,x2,x3,x4

b. 20x1 + 24x2 + 28x3

c. x1 +x2 ≥ 25

Step-by-step explanation:

At a time that spans from 1 to 5pm, we have timing as follows:

1pm - 2pm = x1

2pm - 3pm = x2

3pm - 4pm = x3

4pm - 5pm = x4

a. The decision variables are x1, x2, x3, x4 and these are the number of people for each shift.

b. The objective function is the minimum cost which is

20x1 + 24x2 + 28x3

c. The constraints for each has been listed

1 - 2pm, x1 ≥ 20 workers

2 - 3pm, x1 + x2 ≥ 25

3 - 4pm, x2 + x3 ≥ 25

4 - 5pm, x3 ≥ 30

The question asked us to write the one for 2-3pm, which is x1 + x2 ≥ 25
