Okay so 4x + 7 (2x+12) = 174
no you want to combine your X so you will have
6x + 7 * 12 = 174
(times 7 and 12 to simplify the equation)
6x + 84 = 174
(Get rid of 84, minus it from both sides)
6x         = 90
(divide both sides by 6)
x = 15

4x+14x+84=174
18x=174-84
18x=90 divide both sides by 18
x=5

What is the length of the major axis of the conic section shown below?
sveticcg [70]

\dfrac{(x-2)^2}{49}+\dfrac{(y+5)^2}{36}=1

The equation of a elipse:

\dfrac{x^2}{a^2}+\dfrac{y^2}{b^2}=1

The length of the major axis is equal 2a if a > b or 2b if b > a.

We have

a^2=49\to a=\sqrt{49}=7\\\\b^2=36\to b=\sqrt{36}=6\\\\a > b

therefore the length of the major axis is equal 2 · 7 = 14.

A function is graphed on a coordinate grid. As the domain values approach infinity, the range values approach infinity. As the d
Sloan [31]

Answer:

D) Quadratic

Step-by-step explanation:

A function is graphed on a coordinate grid.

  • As the domain values approach infinity, the range values approach infinity.

       Domain: If x\rightarrow \infty then

       Range: y\rightarrow \infty

  • As the domain values negative infinity, the range values approach infinity.

       Domain: If x\rightarrow -\infty then

       Range: y\rightarrow \infty

We need to choose correct option which follows given domain and range.

Only quadratic function will follow the rule because it has even degree polynomial.

Quadratic function: f(x)=ax^2+bx+c

Degree = 2 and leading coefficient is positive.

Domain: x\belong (-\infty,\infty)

Range: y\belong (b,\infty)

Hence, D is correct option.

Kerri said that the product of 3.93 and 0.07 would be about 4 and would have two decimal places. Is she correct?
oee [108]

Answer:

No.

Step-by-step explanation:

This type of problem is actually a trick problem. The question indicates that the PRODUCT of 3.93 and 0.07 would be about 4. The question is referring to the answer of the two values Multiplied to each other.

To visualize the question, we have:

3.93 x 0.07

This would give us:

0.2751

Kerri would be correct if she was looking for the SUM of the two values.

This would be:

3.93 + 0.07

This would give us:

4

Therefore in trick problems like this ones, it is better to look at what exactly is being asked.
