To keep a victim of severe internal bleeding from going into shock, keep him calm until EMS arrives.
Don't make them speak, but speak to them. If they speak, the movement of their lungs could make the bleeding worse. So could any movement. And if they were upright, the bleeding could cause even more damage.
This is referred to as Blood Alcohol Concentration or BAC. This is usually represented as a decimal below one. The level of this BAC also determines if you are considered driving under influence (DUI).
