You have been swimming in your neighbor’s pool for an hour. The relative humidity of the air is 30 percent and has a normal temp

erature of 75°F. Will you feel warmer or cooler when you step out of the pool? Explain your answer using the given relative humidity of the air, and the process going on to make you feel warmer or cooler (the temperature outside will not affect you as much in this case).

I think you will feel cooler due to the heat being pulled from you from the water but then warm up when you dry

One can feel warmer when you step out of the swimming pool because water conducts heat away from the body 20 to 27 times faster than air. So, when we enter into the water and are wearing little or no thermal protection, it actually increases r exposed body surface area and thus increases the rate at which your body heat is transferred to the water, that’s why one feels cold. One can maintain core temperature of the body during swimming only in water that's warmer than 75°F.

Drinking alcoholic or caffeinated beverages increases urine output more than drinking an equivalent amount of water.
olga2289 [7]

Answer:

A) ADH secretion decreases. B) Urine osmolarity decreases.

Explanation:

Antidiuretic Hormone or ADH is responsible for the reabsorption of water through the kidneys.

A) Drinking alcoholic and/or caffeinated beverages decreases the release and effect of ADH so the water does not get absorbed as much as it should, which in turn results in more urination.

B) Osmolarity is a term used to express the concentration of a solution in terms of a certain particle. Since less ADH secretion results in more water being in the urine, this lowers the concentration of the urine. So urine osmolarity would be decreased.

I hope this answer helps.

What is difference between Microtubules and Microflaments?
Nina [5.8K]

Microfilaments

Microfilaments are fine, thread-like protein fibers, 3-6 nm in diameter. They are composed predominantly of a contractile protein called actin, which is the most abundant cellular protein. Microfilaments' association with the protein myosin is responsible for muscle contraction. Microfilaments can also carry out cellular movements including gliding, contraction, and cytokinesis.

Microtubules

Microtubules are cylindrical tubes, 20-25 nm in diameter. They are composed of subunits of the protein tubulin--these subunits are termed alpha and beta. Microtubules act as a scaffold to determine cell shape, and provide a set of "tracks" for cell organelles and vesicles to move on. Microtubules also form the spindle fibers for separating chromosomes during mitosis. When arranged in geometric patterns inside flagella and cilia, they are used for locomotion.

Hope this helps :)

which type of transport would be required for the solute molecules to move against the concetration gradient?
larisa [96]

Answer:

Active Transport

Explanation:

active transport

During active transport, substances move against the concentration gradient, from an area of low concentration to an area of high concentration. This process is “active” because it requires the use of energy (usually in the form of ATP). It is the opposite of passive transport.
