If the gradient is the same but there are different y intersects, the straight lines will never cross but they will be parallel. the answer is they will never cross

No, because lines that have same slopes are parallel and parallel lines never cross. So they will not cross. Hope this helps.

<h3>Answer:  D)   y+3</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

Point A is located at (3,1). Point A' is located at (-5,4)

To move from A to A', we'll do two things:

  • Move 8 units to the left
  • Move 3 units up

The "8 units to the left" portion has us go from x to x-8

The "3 units up" part involves y becoming y+3

So that's how we get the translation rule (x,y) \to (x-8,y+3). The x-8 portion is already filled in for us. The missing part is y+3 which is the final answer (choice D).

Let's try this translation rule on point B to see if we arrive at the proper location of B'

B is at (2,6) which means

(x,y) \to (x-8,y+3)\\\\(2,6) \to (2-8,6+3)\\\\(2,6) \to (-6,9)\\\\

which matches up what the diagram shows. I'll let you verify that the rule also works for point C.

PLEASE HELP!! (50pts)
Ad libitum [116K]

Answer:

C. 248°

Step-by-step explanation:

The arc measure of a full circle is 360 degrees.

Arc XZ measures 112 degrees.

Arcs XZ and XWZ add to a full circle, or 360 degrees.

The measure of arc XWZ = 360 degree - 112 degrees = 248 degrees
