Some plants have flower color that is determined by incomplete dominance, thus both genes are expressed and the color is a blend

of the two. In the Four O'clock flower heterozygotes have pink flowers while homozygotes are red or white. A plant with pink flowers was crossed ith a plant with red flowers. If 300 offspring were produced, what number of the F1 Generation would have red flowers?\

Answer:

150

Explanation:

According to the given information, the pink-flowered plant (Rr) is crossed with a red-flowered plant (RR). The pink-flowered plant would make two types of gametes: 1/2 with "R" and 1/2 with "r".

The red-flowered plant would make all gametes with "R" allele. The random fusion of these gametes gives pink and red-flowered progeny in 1:1 ratio.

Since 50% of plants of the progeny are red-flowered, out of 300 offspring, the total red-flowered plants would be= 50 % of 300 = 150.

zmey [24]

Answer:

In which class of elements is there a greater range of properties, the metals or the nonmetals? Give an example to support your answer. Non-metals have greater range of properties given that they exist as solids, liquids and gases. And also that they can polymerize, crystallize and form organic compounds.

Cells can make proteins that need to be transported out of the cell and moved to another part of the body. Cells also make carbo
alex41 [277]

Answer:

The proteins will be transported through exocytosis; the carbon dioxide will diffuse through the membrane.

Explanation:

Diffusion is the passive transport of substances down their concentration gradient. The process moves the substances from the region of higher concentration to that of lower concentration. CO2 is a small molecule and does not have any charge. Small, uncharged molecules can diffuse through the lipid bilayer of the cell membrane. Therefore, CO2 can exit a cell by simple diffusion.

On the other hand, proteins are too large to be transported by diffusion across the cell membrane. The proteins are transported by exocytosis. During exocytosis of proteins, membrane-bound vesicles are formed inside the cell. These vesicles carry proteins in them and are called secretory vesicles. The membrane of the vesicles fuse with the cell membrane of cells and transport the proteins outside the cell.
