Answer: An example of a fable that could be compared to a movie would be the case of The Ugly Duckling and The Princess Diaries.

In the story of The Ugly Duckling, a duck is always mocked and bullied because he is ugly. He does not fit with the others, and does not behave in the way that most ducks do. However, when the duckling grows older, he realizes that he is actually a beautiful swan, and that this was the reason why he was always different.

In The Princess Diaries, Mia Thermopolis is a clumsy girl who is not considered to be very pretty. She is also bullied and made fun of. However, later in the story, she discovers that she is actually a princess. She undergoes a makeover and is happy ever after.

The Princess Diaries expresses the same theme as The Ugly Duckling. It encourages you to be who you are, and to ignore those who criticize you or bother you. However, the theme is made more modern by using a human teenager as the protagonist.
