When you write the reaction, it is shown below:

CH₃OH + CH₃COO⁻  →  CH₃COOH + CH₃O⁻

Since no figure is given showing the direction of the curves, I can't be really sure what you are referring to. However, I would guess that the first arrow is from the H atom of methyl alcohol transferring to the acetate ion. As a result, the methyl alcohol turns into an anion called methoxide.

How can you tell a chemical change has happened?
Paladinen [302]

Answer:

How can I tell if a chemical reaction is occurring? A chemical reaction is usually accompanied by easily observed physical effects, such as the emission of heat and light, the formation of a precipitate, the evolution of gas, or a color change.

a culinary student fills a 40ml container with 37.2 grams of vegetable oil.What is the density of the oil
Lynna [10]

Answer:

<h2>0.93 g/mL</h2>

Explanation:

The density of a substance can be found by using the formula

density =  \frac{mass}{volume} \\

From the question

mass = 37.2 g

volume = 40 mL

We have

density =  \frac{37.2}{40}  \\  = 0.93

We have the final answer as

<h3>0.93 g/mL</h3>

Hope this helps you

What is the empirical formula of the compound that is 25.3% magnesium and 74.7% chlorine
Margarita [4]

Answer: MgCl_2

Explanation:

25.3% Mg

74.7% Cl

First step: change % to g

25.3g Mg

74.7g Cl

Second step: calculate g/mol of each compound. You can do this by using the atomic mass.

25.3gMg(\frac{1mol}{24.30g})=1.04mol

74.7gCl(\frac{1mol}{35.45g} )=2.11mol

Third step: determine the lowest number and divide everything by it. Of the result, extract whole number only.

Mg=\frac{1.04}{1.04} =1

Cl=\frac{2.11}{1.04}=2

Fourth step: Write each compound with their respective number below.

This empirical formula should be: MgCl_2

Is Sun the biggest planet?
seropon [69]

Sun isn't actually planet but star. Really big ball made of gases. Sun's mass consists of hydrogen (~73%); the rest is mostly helium (~25%). Sun is the biggest object in our Solar System. It's 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.
