I'm not sure which one of the two questions you are asking for, but here is the answer for the question I saw first.

First you want to break the area apart in to separate, smaller areas. Such as (12cm × 9cm) and (4cm × 6cm). 

Once broken apart, you can find their individual areas:
12 · 9 = 108cm²
4 · 6 = 24cm²

Then, to get the whole area, you simply just add them back together.
108 + 24 = 132cm²

The first day the cost is=$1.39
The next day the cost is=6($0.5)=$3

The total cost is =$1.39+$3=$4.39

Find the area

Area of a rectangle=long x width

Area of the figure=area  of rectangle₁+ area of rectangle₂
Area of rectangle ₁=9 cm*12 cm=108 cm₂
Area of rectangle ₂=6 cm * 4 cm=24 cm₂

Area of the figure=108 cm² + 24 cm²=132 cm²

Answer: 132 cm²
