<span>The addition and subtraction are inverse operations. For example 5 add by 3 is 8, and the inverses operation subtract 3 from 8 and we get 5. With the same method, multiplication and division are inverses operations: 2 multiplied by 3 is 6, and when we divide 6 by 3, we get 2. In our case 14+17 = 31, so for finding the result by the inverse operation, we substract 17 from 31 and we find 14, and the inverse operation is 14=31-17</span>
