To answer this item, we let x be the distance that Jimmy drove from his origin and back. Given the speeds, the time it takes for him to travel to and fro are,
                                   t1 = x / 46
                                   t2 = x / 52
respectively.

The equation that would best represent the scenario is,
                              x/46 - x/52 = 0.6
The value of x from the equation is 239.2.

The trip there takes x/46 which is equal to 239.2/46 which is also equal to 5.2 hours. The travel from the cabin back took 4.6 hours.

Answer:

9.8 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance be x km

T1 be time taken to go to trip

T2 be time taken to go back trip

Time = \frac{distance}{speed}

Average speed on way of trip = 46 km/h

T1 = \frac{x}{46}

Average speed on the way back = 52 km/h

T2 = \frac{x}{52}

According to question

T1-T2 = 0.6

\frac{x}{46}-\frac{x}{56}= 0.6

\frac{26x-23x}{1196}=0.6

3x=1196×0.6

3x=717.6

x=\frac{317.6}{2}

x=239.2 km

T1=\frac{239.6}{46}

T1=5.2 hour

T2=\frac{239.6}{52}

T2=4.6 hour

Total time taken to complete the trip = T1+T2

Total time = 5.2+4.6 =9.8

Hence the correct answer is 9.8 hours

There are three words in geometry that are not formally defined. These three undefined terms are point, line and plane.

POINT (an undefined term)
In geometry, a point has no dimension (actual size). Even though we represent a point with a dot, the point has no length, width, or thickness. A point is usually named with a capital letter. In the coordinate plane, a point is named by an ordered pair, (x,y).

LINE (an undefined term)
In geometry, a line has no thickness but its length extends in one dimension and goes on forever in both directions. A line is depicted to be a straight line with two arrowheads indicating that the line extends without end in two directions. A line is named by a single lowercase written letter or by two points on the line with an arrow drawn above them.

PLANE (an undefined term)
In geometry, a plane has no thickness but extends indefinitely in all directions. Planes are usually represented by a shape that looks like a tabletop or wall. Even though the diagram of a plane has edges, you must remember that the plane has no boundaries. A plane is named by a single letter (plane m) or by three non-collinear points (plane ABC).

Undefined terms can be combined to define other terms. Noncollinear points, for example, are points that do not lie on the same line. A line segment is the portion of a line that includes two particular points and all points that lie between them, while a ray is the portion of a line that includes a particular point, called the end point, and all points extending infinitely to one side of the end point.

Defined terms can be combined with each other and with undefined terms to define still more terms. An angle, for example, is a combination of two different rays or line segments that share a single end point. Similarly, a triangle is composed of three noncollinear points and the line segments that lie between them.

Everything else builds on these and adds more information to this base. Those added things include all the theorems and other "defined" terms like parallelogram or acute angle. <span>

Solve for x in the equation x/2 = 17 user: solve for x in the equation x/2 = 17 user: apply the rules for order of operations to
Finger [1]
Well to solve for x you simply need to multiply both sides of the equation to isolate x, the answer will be x=34. the second question requires bedmas (brackets, exponents, division and multiplication, addition and subtraction)
It will be 224 no matter if you multiply or divide first

An alloy of tin is 15% tin and weighs 20 pounds. A second alloy is 10% tin How many pounds of the second alloy
NemiM [27]

Answer:

30 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Amount of tin in first alloy + amount of tin in second alloy = amount of tin in mixture

0.15 (20) + 0.10 x = 0.12 (20 + x)

3 + 0.10 x = 2.4 + 0.12 x

0.6 = 0.02 x

x = 30
