Cost divided by length of fabric

convert to impropert fractions

2 and 1/2=2+1/2=4/2+1/2=5/2


cost/length=\frac{15}{\frac{5}{2}}
times the whole thing by \frac{{2}{5}}{\frac{2}{5}}
we get
\frac{\frac{30}{5}}{\frac{10}{10}}=
\frac{6}{1}=6

cost was $6 per yard
