Biotechnology helped us in producing genetically modified plants which have the ability to thrive in adverse weather condition and also they do not require chemical fertilizers and insecticides and herbicide to protect them from pest. The GMO crops are usually pest resistant and thus the application of harmful chemical in soil and plants gets reduced or depleted. This conserves the soil which is adversely affected by the application of these harmful chemicals.
