So, it looks like all your answers for the axis of symmetry are correct. I'm guessing you only need help on the value of the vertex.

The vertex is the peak of curve of the parabola.

In the first graph y= 3.
In the second graph, y= -3
In the third graph,  y=3
In the fourth graph, y= -3

However, I can not see the lines of the graph very well, and these numbers are just what I believe the values to be. Now that you know what the vertex is and the estimated values of y, can you figure out the rest of the problem?

Brand X costs $2.70 for 10 ounces. Brand Y costs 4 cents more per ounces. What is the cost of 11 ounces of brand Y?
Ksju [112]
Well you have to first find the constant of Brand X which would be 2.70/10 = .27. Brand Y is .4 more so that would be .31 per ounce. So then .31 x 11 = 3.41. The cost of 11 ounces of brand Y is $3.41.

If (9x − 4)(9x + 4) = ax² − b, what is the value of a? (5 points)
lions [1.4K]

Given, (9x - 4)(9x + 4) = ax² - b

From algebraic identities:

We know, (a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²

Now, 81x² + 36x - 36x - 16 = ax² - b

81x² - 16 = axis² - b

So ax² = 81x²

a = 81

-b = -16

b = 16

Solution

Therefore, the value of a is 81.

Chris is playing a card game with his friends. The game uses only the four aces from a standard deck of cards. For each move, a
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call the aces for hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades. So,  are red and c, s is black.

Since the first card is replaced, the two picks are identical. This means that the sample space is given by all the possible couple

There are 16 such couples (we have four choices for the first card, and the same four choices for the second card). Now let's compute the odds in our favor to deduce the probability of winning:

If we want a player to draw two cards of the same color, the following couples are good:

so 8 possible couples over 16. This means that a player's probability of drawing two cards of the same color is 8/16 = 1/2.

Similarly, the probability of drawing a red ace first and then a black ace is represented by the following couples:

which are 4 over the same 16 as above, thus leading to a probability of 4/16 = 1/4.
