Reactive--responding to the new found rights for women and minority groups. They were concerned about abortion law and the sexual revolution taking place in the US in addition to the use of drugs by the liberal movements. 

Proactive--the group wanted to promote religion in the US and an economic policy which embraced traditional values of the US such as hard work and self-made people within the US.
