Greetings and Happy Holidays!

Solve for p.
6p-21=3p-12

Add 12 to both sides.
(6p-21)+12=(3p-12)+12

6p-9=3p

Add -6p to both sides.
(6p-9)+(-6p)=(3p)+(-6p)

-9=-3p

Divide both sides by 3.
\frac{-9}{-3}= \frac{-3p}{-3}

3=p

The Answer Is:
\left[\begin{array}{ccc}p=3\end{array}\right]

Hope this helps!

What are the solutions to the following system of equations? Select the correct answer below.
Black_prince [1.1K]
(a). 8x + y = 20, where (b). y = x2 - 2x + 4
So where y is in equation (a), substitute in the value of y in (b).
8x + (x2 - 2x + 4) = 20
8x + (4) = 20
Get rid of the 4 on both sides (since what you do to one side, you must do to the other)
8x + 4 - 4 = 20 - 4
8x = 16
Get rid of the 8 to leave x on its own
8x ÷ 8 = 16 ÷ 8
x = 2
So now that you have x, find y but substituting in the value you just found (2) into one of the starting equations.
8x + y = 20 where x is 2.
8(2) + y = 20
16 + y = 20
Minus 16 from both sides
y = 20 - 16 = 4
So x is 2 and y is 4

The perimeter of a rectangular garden is 43.8 feet. Its length is 12.4 feet. What is its width?
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

9.5 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

12.4 times 2 is 24.8 feet (this is the two lengths combined)

since the garden is 43.8 feet, subtract.  43.8 - 24.8 = 19

lastly, 19 divided by 2 is 9.5.

Graph this parametric equation<br><br> x = 2t y = t + 5, -2 ≤ t ≤ 3
UNO [17]
We are given the following data: <span>x = 2t, y = t + 5, -2 ≤ t ≤ 3. The data is valid since there are three unknowns in this problem and that three equations would suffice to answer the problem.

We start with the given </span>-2 ≤ t ≤ 3 then substitute y = t +5 by using the limits of the range:

at t = -2 ; y = -2 + 5 = 3
at t = 3, y = 3+5 = 8

for the second equation

at t = -2 ; x = 2*-2 =-4
at t=3; x = 2*3 = 6

we group the points based on their original corresponding t's

(3,-4) and (8,6) we just have to connect these points along with the internal points in between. The relationship should be linear.
