Circumference is 2πr or πd.
So for part 1 the diameter = 9in.
Plug in 9 into the πd formula.
π*9 = 9π in. ≈ 9*(22/7) ≈ 28.29in

For part 2 (from what I can see) they want you to find the same circumference in centimeters(cm) and use 22/7 for π so first convert the radius to cm.
9 in = 9*2.54 = 22.86cm
Next plug in the values into the Circumference formula: π*d
(22/7)*(22.86) ≈ 71.85cm

Hope this helps!

What is the total amount that First Consumer Bank will receive after lending Jane $7,000 for three years at an interest rate of
8_murik_8 [283]
Given:
principal = 7,000
interest rate = 5% compounded annually
term = 3 years

A = P (1 + r/n)^nt

A = future amount to be received by First Consumer Bank
P = loan principal
r = rate
n = number of times compounded in a year
t = term

A = 7,000 ( 1 + 5%/1)^1x3
A = 7,000 (1.05)³
A = 7,000 (1.157625)
A = 8,103.375

First Consumer Bank will receive 8,103.375 from Jane after lending 7,000 for 3 years compounded annually at 5%.

So far you have mostly worked with equations. There are special types of equations, called functions, that have exactly one outp
amid [387]
Can you think of any other examples of functions?

<em>Yes! Like putting a check in the bank, that is the input- and then the money you take is the output. You can even use food to compare input and output! Ingredients are the input, and the final dish/dessert is the output. If you wanted something more mathematical, you can use a graph to find the input and output. If you know a few points, you can create a whole line of x and y points, where x= input and y=output. You can also consider getting gas for your car, the money is the input, and the gas (in return) is the output. <== these are just a few examples.
</em>
Why might this type of equation be useful?

When you are trying to find the points for a line or looking for the unit price for something, functions can be very useful! You can find what y would be when x equals 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. I know I use this all the time! For example, trying to find the best price for something in the grocery store. There are a lot of options, and if you find the unit price with functions, it makes it easier to get the best deal.

I hope this helps!

Can someone please solve these?

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

h = -6t^{2} +20t + 4

I will use calculus,  maybe that's not how you're supposed to do this

-12t +20 =0

12t = 20

t = 20 /12

t = 1 \frac{8}{12}

t = 1 \frac{2}{3}

there will be a max at  1.6666666666  seconds

-6*1.6666666666666^{2}  + 20 * 1.6666666666  +4

= 16.666666666666 + 33.333333333333 + 4

= - 16\frac{2}{3} + 33 \frac{1}{3} + 4

= 20\frac{2}{3}  feet max height ( not too high,  for a rocket)

time of flight:

0 = -6t^{2} +20t + 4

use quadratic formula to find t

-20 +- sqrt [ 20^{2} - 4*(-6)*4 ] / 2*(-6)

-20 +- sqrt [400 + 96 ] / -12

-20 +- sqrt [496 ] / -12

-20 +- 22.27105 / -12

try the negative option 1st

-42.27105 / -12

3.522 seconds.     time of flight

when will the rocket be at 12' ? :

12 = -6t^{2} +20t + 4

0 = -6t^{2} +20t -8

use quadratic formula again to find t

-20 +- sqrt [ 20^{2} - 4*(-6)*(-8) ] / 2*(-6)

-20 +- sqrt [ 400 - 192 ] / -12

-20 +- sqrt [208 ] / -12

-20 - 14.4222 / -12

-34.4222 / -12

2.8685 seconds ( on the way down)

and

-20 + 14.4222 / -12

-5.578 / - 12

0.4648  seconds ( on the way up )

The shortest distance separating Julio from Sarah is 111.8ft

To know the distance of the shortest bridge between Julio and Sarah, the following procedure must be carried out.

We know that Julio walked 100ft to one side and Sarah walked 20ft to the opposite side, that is, on the <em>y-axis</em> they are 120ft apart.

On the other hand, Julio stayed by the river and Sarah walked 9ft away from the river, that is, on the <em>x-axis</em> they are separated by a distance of 59ft (assuming that the width of the river is 50ft).

To know the linear distance that separates them, it is necessary to use the following formula of the Pythagorean theorem.

c² = a² + b²

c= \sqrt{a^{2} + b^{2} }

From this operation we know the value of a and b:

a = 120ft

b = 59ft

Now we just have to replace the values in the formula.

c = \sqrt{120^{2} + 59^{2} }

c = \sqrt{14400 + 3481}

c = \sqrt{17881}

c = 133,7

However, 133.5ft is not the value of the bridge distance because Sarah went 9ft away form the river. Then a portion must be subtracted from her to calculate the exact portion of the distance above the river.

For this we must calculate the distance that separates them that is above the Earth, for this we use the same mathematical formula.

c = \sqrt{20^{2} + 9^{2}  }

c = \sqrt{400 + 81}

c = \sqrt{481}

c = 21,9ft

So the distance a part of the Earth covers is 21.9ft. To find out how far the bridge should be over the river, we subtract 21.9ft from the total distance 133.7ft

133,7ft - 21,9ft = 111,8ft

Note: This question is incomplete because it has missing information (the length and width of the river).

Question 23:

x = 4

DE = 44

Question 24:

x = 25

SE = 28

Step-by-step explanation:

As RS is the perpendicular bisector of DE, it will divide DE in two equal parts DS and SE

<u>Question number 23:</u>

Given

DS = 3x+10

SE = 6x-2

As the two segments are equal:

DS = SE\\3x+10 = 6x-2

Subtracting 10 from both sides

3x+10-10 = 6x-2-10\\3x = 6x-12

subtracting 6x from both sides

3x -6x = 6x-6x-12\\-3x = -12

Dividing both sides by -3

\frac{-3x}{-3} = \frac{-12}{-3}\\x = 4

Now

DS = 3x+10\\= 3(4)+10\\= 12+10\\=22

And

SE = 6x-2\\= 6(4)-2\\= 24 - 2\\=22\\DE = DS+SE\\= 22+22\\=44

<u>Question No 24:</u>

Given

DS = x+3

DE = 56

We know that:

DS = \frac{1}{2}DE\\x+3 = \frac{56}{2}\\x + 3 = 28\\x = 28-3\\x = 25

So

DS = 25+3 = 28

As DS is 28, SE will also be 28

Hence,
