Ok, common core is hard. I grew up and graduated without it, so if it's ok, I'm just going to show you how to do it without common core.......
The first way you can do it is:.....
So, we can see that there is a negative sign right in front of the parenthesis there.... There is also a negative sign in front of -0.25. Because of this, it's a rule of thumb that we can automatically get rid of both of those negative signs and make them positive
So, your new equation should look like -0.35 + 0.25
When we add it all together, we get -0.1
The second way you can do it is by foiling. So as I'm sure you know, when there isn't a number by a negative sign, we automatically assume it's one. So when we add a 1 behind the only negative sign that doesn't have a number, we can do -1 * -0.25 = 0.25
Then, like before, our equation turns out the same: -0.35+0.25 = -0.1
