To find the perimeter:

First, add all the sides together and find x

2x + 3 + 5x + 8 + x + 7x - 2 = 15x + 9

15x + 9 is your answer (for you cannot simplify it anymore)

hope this helps

A shelf support 3 3/4. If a book weighs 3/8 of a pound, how many books can I think hold? If can add more support so the shelf ho
Blizzard [7]
So, you want to get the mixed number, 3 3/4, as a fraction. Multiply 3 by 4 and add it to the top of the fraction, getting you the fraction 15/4. Multiply the top and bottom by 2, getting the denominator to 8 and the numerator to 30. Now, you have two fractions, 30/8 and 3/8, with common denominators. Divide 30 by 3, you get 10. 10 books for the first part. Using this explanation you'll find that the new shelf can hold 14 books.

Figures ABCD and PQRS are parallelogram find x and y (lengths are in metres) Part i and ii.
STatiana [176]

Step-by-step explanation:

For 1st question

In a parm ABCD

5x - 4 = 16 ( being opposite sides of parallelogram)

5x = 16 + 4

5x = 20

x = 20 / 5

x = 4

3y + 1 = 22 (being opposite sides of parallelogram)

3y = 22 -1

3y = 21

y = 21 / 3

y = 7

For second question

In parm PQRS

Diagonals bisect each other so

x + 4 = 12

x = 12 - 4

x = 8

x + y = 32

8 + y = 32

y = 32 - 8

y = 24

Hope it will help :)❤

Parisian sewer #1 contains 9 fewer gigantic rats—rats as big as cats, some might say—than parisian sewer #2. parisian sewer #2 c
Leya [2.2K]

There are different kinds of math problem. There will be 11 rats in sewer #1.

What are word problem?

The term word problems is known to be problems that are associated with a story, math, etc. They are known to often vary in terms of technicality.

Lets take

sewer #1 = a

sewer #2 = b

sewer #3 = c

Note that A=B-9

So then you would have:

A=B-9

B=C- 5

A+B+C=56

Then you have to do a substitution so as to find C:

(B- 9) + (C-5) + C = 56

{ (C- 5)-9} + (C-5) + C = 56

3C - 19 = 56

3C = 75

B = C- 5

B = 25 - 5

Therefore, B = 20

A = B - 9

= 25 - 9

=11

Therefore, there are are 11 rats in sewer #1

Can someone please help i dont understand
Sloan [31]

Answer:

x = 12

Step-by-step explanation:

Angle 1 = 8x - 17

Angle 2 = 5x + 19

These are congruent which means they are the same so the equation is:

8x - 17 = 5x + 19

3x - 17 = 19

3x = 36

x = 12
