The complement is equal to 90 so the complement to 70 is 20. the supplement adds to 180 so the supplement to 70 is 110. if you are talking about x... it’s an isosceles triangle so the base angles are the same and the angles in a triangle add to 180 so 180-(70+70)=40 so x=40 so the complements is 50 and the supplement is 150

Step-by-step explanation:

By angle sum property ,

x = 40⁰

Complement = 90 - 40 = 50⁰

Supplement = 180 - 40 = 140⁰

Recall that in a 30 – 60 – 90 triangle, if the shortest leg measures x units, then the longer leg measures xStartRoot 3 EndRoot
Brums [2.3K]

The area of the shaded region is  \rm (150\sqrt{3} \ - 75\pi ) \ feet^2 option first is correct.

It is given that a circle is inscribed in a regular hexagon with sides of 10 feet.

It is required to find the shaded area (missing data is attached shown in the picture).

<h3>What is a circle?</h3>

It is defined as the combination of points that and every point has an equal distance from a fixed point ( called the center of a circle).

We have a hexagon with a side length of 10 feet.

We know the area of the hexagon is given by:

\rm A = \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} a^2  where a is the side length.

\rm A = \frac{3\sqrt{3} }{2} 10^2 ⇒ 150\sqrt{3} \rm feet^2

We have the shortest length = x feet and from the figure:

2x = 10

x = 5 feet

The radius of the circle r = longer leg

\rm r = x\sqrt{3} \Rightarrow 5\sqrt{3} feet

The area of the circle a = \pi r^2  ⇒ \pi (5\sqrt{3} )^2 \Rightarrow 75\pi \ \rm feet^2

The area of the shaded region = A - a

\rm =(150\sqrt{3} \ - 75\pi ) \ feet^2

Thus, the area of the shaded region is  \rm (150\sqrt{3} \ - 75\pi ) \ feet^2

Directions: Find the indicated trigonometric ratio as a fraction in simplest form. 1. Sin L =
Rainbow [258]

Answer:

\sin L = 0.60

tan\ N = 1.33

\cos L = 0.80

\sin N = 0.80

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment

From the attachment, we have:

MN = 6

LN = 10

First, we need to calculate length LM,

Using Pythagoras theorem:

LN^2 = MN^2 + LM^2

10^2 = 6^2 + LM^2

100 = 36 + LM^2

Collect Like Terms

LM^2 = 100 - 36

LM^2 = 64

LM = 8

Solving (a): \sin L

\sin L = \frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}

\sin L = \frac{MN}{LN}

Substitute values for MN and LN

\sin L = \frac{6}{10}

\sin L = 0.60

Solving (b): tan\ N

tan\ N = \frac{Opposite}{Adjacent}

tan\ N = \frac{LM}{MN}

Substitute values for LM and MN

tan\ N = \frac{8}{6}

tan\ N = 1.33

Solving (c): \cos L

\cos L = \frac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse}

\cos L = \frac{LM}{LN}

Substitute values for LN and LM

\cos L = \frac{8}{10}

\cos L = 0.80

Solving (d): \sin N

\sin N = \frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}

\sin N = \frac{LM}{LN}

Substitute values for LM and LN

\sin N = \frac{8}{10}

\sin N = 0.80
