First divide 228 miles by 6 hours and u get 38 miles per hour
next, divide 285 miles by 38 miles and u get 15/2 or 7.5 hours
the answer is 7 and a half hours
hope this helps! good luck!

First find out how many miles per hour. 310/5= 62. Divide that number by 60 (60 minutes in an hour). 62/60= 1.033333. Terry drives 1.033333 miles per minute. Multiply 1.033333 times 403 to see how many minutes he drove. 1.033333*403=416.433333. It took Terry 416 minutes or 6 hours and 56 minutes.

Maria measured a centipede that was 1 1/12 inches long. Jerome measured a centipede that was 11/12 of an inch long. How much lon
4vir4ik [10]

Answer:

1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

The centipede that Maria measured was 1 1/12 inches long. If you convert this to an improper fraction it is equal to 13/12 inches. Now to find how much longer Maria's centipede was than Jeromes, you just take 11/12 and minus it from 13/12 which is equal to 2/12 of an inch, which then simplifies to 1/6 of an inch.

A company manufactures televisions. The average weight of the televisions is 5 pounds with a standard deviation of 0.1 pound. As
Semenov [28]

Answer:

0.2564\text{ pounds}

Step-by-step explanation:

The 90th percentile of a normally distributed curve occurs at 1.282 standard deviations. Similarly, the 10th percentile of a normally distributed curve occurs at -1.282 standard deviations.

To find the X percentile for the television weights, use the formula:

X=\mu +k\sigma, where \mu is the average of the set, k is some constant relevant to the percentile you're finding, and \sigma is one standard deviation.

As I mentioned previously, 90th percentile occurs at 1.282 standard deviations. The average of the set and one standard deviation is already given. Substitute \mu=5, k=1.282, and \sigma=0.1:

X=5+(1.282)(0.1)=5.1282

Therefore, the 90th percentile weight is 5.1282 pounds.

Repeat the process for calculating the 10th percentile weight:

X=5+(-1.282)(0.1)=4.8718

The difference between these two weights is 5.1282-4.8718=\boxed{0.2564\text{ pounds}}.
