In this situation...The growth of an elephant population, which is protected from hunting and has all needed resources, is the correct answer. Both other examples have external factors influencing their growth, although sparrows and bacteria may reproduce at a greater rate, the elephant population would grow at an exponential rate as the species are protected.

Answer: C

Explanation: In this situation the elephant population would show growth because they are being protected so in simple words no poaching = growth :)

How can histograms help you describe a population? Use the word bank above to help you explain your answer.
krek1111 [17]

Answer: It shows the distribution of the population with respect to a characteristic, quantitative and continuous, such as the weight or height of a population. It is used to determine the degree of homogeneity of the values studied, or to see the degree of variability, and therefore, the dispersion of all the values taken by the parts.

Explanation:

A histogram is a graphical representation of a variable using bars. In such a bar, its area is proportional to the frequency of the values represented. Thus, it shows the distribution of the population, or of the sample, with respect to a characteristic, quantitative and continuous, such as the weight or height of a population. It is used to determine the degree of homogeneity of the values studied, or to see the degree of variability, and therefore, the dispersion of all the values taken by the parts.

In order to construct a histogram first we need to have a frequency table with all the information. On the abscissa axis (horizontal axis) the intervals are placed from smallest to largest. On the ordinate axis (vertical axis), the absolute frequencies of each of the intervals are represented. Then, the rectangular bars of equal width are drawn, and the height represents the absolute frequency. All bars touch the bars next to each other, unless an interval has zero frequency (the height of the bar will also be zero).

Thus, histograms are used to describe populations since they represent a variable and in what proportion of the population it is found.

determine the ratio of average maximum elongation rate for the modified RNA polymerase compared to the wild strain RNA polymeras
Vinil7 [7]

Answer:

Check the c in the explanation

Explanation:

a) RNA has three components - 1) 5 - carbon ribose sugar (2) phosphate group (3) nitrogen base

RNA polymerase is an enzyme involved in transcription where genetic material DNA is transcribed into RNA ( mRNA,rRNA,tRNA).

b) the dependent variable here is what we are looking in the experiment , here it is number of nuceotides per second ,the transcription efficiency of RNA polymerase. And the two controls are important wild type without drug and experimental strain without drug these two tells about baseline of transcription rate of an enzyme. so that one can explain the drug effect on a enzyme.

c) In both wild type and exp strain upon treatment with amanitin the transcription rate decreased in exp strain it is not significant whereas in wild type the effect is much higher compare to exp strain and it is significant. this suggests that the mutation in experimental strain must be on larger subunit of the RNA pol enzyme. that mutation might be showing effect of binding drug to the enzyme and also has a role for its enzyme activity.

and the reduction of transcription rate is 100% efficient in wild type compared with exp strain.

d) a null hypothesis is a general statement in a statistics where there is no measured phenomenon between groups.

the change in the amino acid is an important clue, tells that there is no effect in transcription rate between experiment strain with and without drug . which in turn tells that the mutation is imp for the activity of the Enzyme for its role.

According to the Endosymbiotic Theory, infoldings in the cell membrane of an ancestral prokaryotic cell gave rise to endomembran
Ad libitum [116K]

Explanation:

False: C) The ER provides separate microenvironments for each of the modifications that must take place to proteins.

The golgi apparatus comprised of several components called cisternae, these function as different microenvironments, where further modification proteins and lipids into functional biomolecules occurs.

During protein synthesis, transcription occurs in the nucleus, followed by translation within ribosomes, the newly synthesized proteins enter endoplasmic reticulum where they undergo folding and modification. Within the golgi body, the proteins are tagged and parceled into lysosomes for export.

Further Explanation:

The endoplasmic reticulum is a membrane system within the cytoplasm that extends from the outer nuclear membrane. Apart from increasing the surface area within the cell, this continuous system also carries out protein folding, synthesis and transport. In the endoplasmic reticulum or ER, some sections called the smooth ER, do not contain ribosomes, and may contain lipids, enzymes, and other proteins. Other sections bound to ribosomes, are called the rough Er. As a protein destined for the endomembrane system is being synthesized by a ribosome, the first amino acids in the growing polypeptide chain act as a signal sequence. That signal sequence ensures that the ribosome binds to the outer membrane of the ER and that the protein enters the ER lumen. The proteins undergo major modifications and are packed into vesicles.

Golgi bodies are flat, disk-like membranous regions. Proteins traverse the organelle by first having their vesicles bind to the cis face or receiving end. Like a post office, the golgi complex, or golgi body recognizes specific signal sequences, targets and further modifies and packages these compounds into lysosomes for delivery to their final destination. Proteins here undergo peptide processing and glycosylation
