Each straw is  4-1/8 inches long.
You have one gigantic piece of straw material, 123-3/4 inches long.
How many straws can you cut it up to make ?

 ===>                    (123-3/4)  divided by  (4-1/8)            straws.

Each one costs  $0.015  to make.
So, once you find the number of short straws you have,
multiply

===>                 (the number of short straws) x ($0.015) .

That'll tell you how much it costs to make all of them.

Now you know how to do it on your own.
If you don't get  30 straws  and  $0.45 , please try again.

ziro4ka [17]

Answer: The sample should contain 4870 cans of paint.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the given information , we have

The prior estimate of proportion= p=0.10

Margin of error : E=0.01

Critical value for 98% confidence interval =z_{\alpha/2}=2.326

Formula to find the sample size :

n=p(1-p)(\dfrac{z_{\alpha/2}}{E})^2

i.e. n=0.10(1-0.10)(\dfrac{2.326}{0.01})^2

=4869.2484\approx4870

Hence, the sample should contain 4870 cans of paint.

15% of the school parking spaces are handicap spaces. The school has 18 handicap spaces. How many parking spaces are there?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
There are 120 parking spaces.  because if you divide each by 3 then 15% percent becomes 5% and 18 handicapp spaces becomes 6 parking lot spances. Since we know that there is 100% in total percentage we multiply 6 with 20 in order to get 120
