When E. coli cells produce the amino acid tryptophan, a cluster of five genes is transcribed together. This cluster of genes is referred to as the <span>trp operon.</span>
During telophase II and cytokinesis, chromosomes arrive at opposite poles and begin to decondense; the two cells divide into four unique haploid cells.
