Consider the diagram of the problem.

Let the vertex be on the y axis, exactly, at the point (0, 40)

Another point of this parabola is (200, 100), as can be checked from the figure.

The vertex form of the equation of a parabola is :

y=a(x-h)^{2}+k, where (h, k) is the vertex of the parabola,

replacing (h, k) with (0, 40), we have:

y=ax^{2}+40

to find a, we substitute (x, y) with (200, 100):

100=a200^{2}+40

40,000a=60

a=60/40,000=3/(2,000)

So, the equation of the parabola is y= \frac{3}{2000} x^{2}+40

Mia wants to borrow £6000 and repay it, with interest, after two years. she sees two offers for loans: offer 1 compound interest
AURORKA [14]

Answer:

she is wrong, offer 2 results in lower interests

Step-by-step explanation:

total amount paid if offer 1 is accepted:

$6,000 x (1 + 3%)² = $6,000 x 1.0609 = $6,365.40

she will pay $365.40 in interests

total amount paid if offer 2 is accepted:

($6,000 x 1.01) x 1.05 = $6,060 x 1.05 = $6,363

she will pay $363 in interests

Compounding interest refers to interest that earns more interest itself, e.g. in the first offer, the $180 of interests charged for the first year will earn $5.40 in extra interests. While offer 2 only charges $60 in interests during the first year which will in turn earn $3 of interests. The difference between both offers is that interest charges in offer 1 earn more interests than the interest in offer 2 = $5.40 - $3 = $2.40

Schach [20]

Answer:b

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Hilda draws a card from a deck of cards and it is seven.

It is certain that card is 7 so there a 4 cards which can be 7

i.e. 7 of hearts,7 of spades,7 of club,7 of diamond

So probability that it is the 7 of spades is

\frac{1}{4}=0.25

01-1-
klio [65]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

50 dollars = ∉34

∉1 = Rs 150

Rs 382800 / 150 Rs per ∉  =  382800/150 ∉

=2552 ∉

50 dollars = ∉34          so 50/34 dollars = ∉

2552 ∉ × 50/34 dollar per ∉ =       in the units the ∉ cancel out

                                                         ∉ × dollar/∉    = dollars

(2552 × 50) / 34    = 3752.94 dollars     <------------------

Here is another way of looking at the answer...........

Rs 382800 × 1∉/150 Rs × 50 dollars/34 ∉ =              note how the units cancel

= 382800 × (1/150) × (50/34)                          Rs × ∉/Rs × dollars/∉

=  3,752.94 dollars                                     leaving only dollars in the numerator

Ieda and Thanh both offer piano lessons. Ieda charges an initial fee of $8.50 and an hourly rate of $11.00. Thanh charges an ini
Trava [24]
The price for each instructor will be the same at 3 hours. How I determined this answer:

First off, you need to add the initial price and hourly price for each person together, so you already know how much it will cost for 1 hour, including the initial fee. Here's how you do it:

Ieda: $11.00 (hourly price) + $8.50 (initial fee) = $19.50 (for 1 hour)

Thanh: $10.50 (hourly price) + $10.00 (initial fee) = $20.50 (for 1 hour)

Now that you have the price for 1 hour including the initial fee, now you need to find the price for each hour after that. Here's how I did that:

I created a graph that looked like this:

Hours:       1                 2                  3
Ieda:      19.50          30.50         41.50
Thanh:   20.50          31.00         41.50

Here's how I figured out the price for each hour:

Ieda:

Hour 1 (including initial price):
            $11.00 + $8.50 = $19.50
Hour 2 (excluding initial price): Only add the hourly price after Hour 1!
            $19.50 + $11.00 = $30.50
Hour 3 (excluding initial price):
            $30.50 + $11.00 = $41.50

Thanh:

Hour 1 (including initial price):
            $10.50 + $10.00 = $20.50
Hour 2 (excluding initial price):
            $20.50 + $10.50 = $31.00
Hour 3 (excluding initial price):
            $31.00 + $10.50 = $41.50

So, looking at the graph, their prices are the same once each instruction reaches 3 hours. ($41.50)

I hope I was able to help you! :)
