Combine like terms:   –24 ≤ x – 3 – 8x   =>   -24 + 3 <span> ≤  x - 8x, or
                                                                           -21    </span><span>≤ -7x

Solve for x.  Very important:  If we divide an inequality by a negative number, we must change the direction of the inequaltiy sign:

-21
----- </span>\geq x,  or 3 \geq x<span>
 - 7</span>

Solve for x. 2x + 9 = 33 What is the answer?<br><br> A 7.5<br><br> B 12<br><br> C 21<br><br> D 84
Valentin [98]
B, because you subtract 9 from both sides(2x-9 leaves 2x by itself then 33-9=24), which leaves you with 2x=24 the you divide everything by 2 which leaves you with x=12

Which of the points listed below is not on the line with equation 7y+2=3x-5
kicyunya [14]

Answer: Second option.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the folllowing Linear Equation:

7y+2=3x-5

You need to substitute the coordinates of each point given in the options into the equation and then evaluate.

1) Substituting  (2, -\frac{1}{7}) into the equation, you get:

7(-\frac{1}{7})+2=3(2)-5\\\\-1+2=6-5\\\\1=1\ (TRUE)

2) Substituting the point (3, -\frac{3}{7}). you get:

7(-\frac{3}{7})+2=3(3)-5\\\\-3+2=9-5\\\\-1=4\ (FALSE)

3) Apply the same procedure using the point (1, -\frac{4}{7}):

 7(-\frac{4}{7})+2=3(1)-5\\\\-4+2=3-5\\\\-2=-2\ (TRUE)

4)  Apply the same procedure using the point (-1, -\frac{10}{7})

 7(-\frac{10}{7})+2=3(-1)-5\\\\-10+2=-3-5\\\\-8=-8\ (TRUE)

5) Substituting  (0,-1) into the equation:

 7(-1)+2=3(0)-5\\\\-7+2=-0-5\\\\-5=-5\ (TRUE)

Therefore, the point (3, -\frac{3}{7})  is not on the given line.

-1 &lt; x &lt; 4<br> x is an integer.<br> Write down the possible values of x.
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

0, 1, 2, 3

Step-by-step explanation:

-1 < x < 4 means that x has to be an integer (whole number aka no fractions)  between -1 and 4. Note that the < and > means that x cannot be -1 or 4 since it has to be greater than -1, or smaller than 4.

Answer is  (4) -11.333

Step-by-step explanation:

multiply : 2x /12-4/3= 4x /15 -1/5

bring variable on one side :

2x/12 -4x/15= 4/3 - 1/5

common denominator : -6x/60=17/15

simplify : -x/10= 17/15

x= - 170/15= -11.3333
