Answer:

4x-43

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have to simplify the expression 7(x – 4) – 3(x + 5)

In order to do so we first open the two brackets using distributive laws.

7(x – 4) – 3(x + 5)= 7*x-7*4-3*x-3*5

= 7x-28-3x-15

Now we bring the terms containing the x together and the terms not containing x together

= 7x-3x-28-15

we simplify them

= 4x-43

Hence

7(x – 4) – 3(x + 5)=4x-43 is the simplified expression

7(x - 4) - 3(x + 5)
Distribute the 7 and 3
7x - 28 - 3x - 15
4x - 43

A certain bookstore chain has two stores, one in San Francisco and one in Los Angeles. It stocks three kinds of books: hardcover
kiruha [24]

Answer:A. 3,600 hard cover, 7,800 soft cover and 12,000 plastic cover books will be sold in San Francisco and 2,400 hard cover, 1,800 soft cover and 2,400 plastic cover books will be sold in Los Angeles.

B.400 hard cover, 3,600 soft cover and 2,400 plastic cover books will be left over in San Francisco and 1,600 hard cover, 7,200 soft cover and 3,600 plastic cover books will be left over in Los Angeles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the First column of the matrix represent hard cover books, the second represent soft cover books and the third represents plastic cover books

For the rows, let the first row represent the store in San Francisco and the second row, the store in Los Angeles;

To determine the sales using matrix operations

The matrix representing the sales is;

( The matrices are attached down below)

The sales for 6months will be

3,600 hard cover, 7,800 soft cover and 12,000 plastic cover books will be sold in San Francisco and 2,400 hard cover, 1,800 soft cover and 2,400 plastic cover books will be sold in Los Angeles.

Using Matrix operations, the total inventory at the end of 6 months will be;

Total inventory at the end of 6 months = Stock at the beginning of January + (6*stocks during the months) - (Total sales)

=400 hard cover, 3,600 soft cover and 2,400 plastic cover books will be left over in San Francisco and 1,600 hard cover, 7,200 soft cover and 3,600 plastic cover books will be left over in Los Angeles.

What does partial quotient mean
MAVERICK [17]
Partial quotients is a method of dividing larger numbers by finding smaller, easier multiples of the divisor that are smaller than the dividend, and putting the number needed to multiply the divisor by to get that multiple off to the side. After repeating this process, you add the numbers on the side to get a final answer. For example, if you are dividing 480 by 32, an easy multiple of 32 that is smaller than 480 is 320. To get this, multiply 32 by 10, and put 10 to the side. Then do the standard subtraction to get 160. Then, begin to think about easy multiples of 32 that are less than 160.
96 automatically comes to mind (32 x 3), so put 3 to the side and subtract to get 64. Obviously, 32 goes into 64 twice, so put 2 to the side and subtract to get zero. At this point, all you must do is add all of the numbers on the side:
10 + 3 + 2 = 15
The answer to 480/32 is 15. To check this, simply use a calculator. This is how you do partial quotients. For further explanation, try this:

Given a central angle of 100 in a circle with a radius of 7 in., what is the intercepted arc length of the central angle?
Sophie [7]

Answer:

12.2 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Write and solve a proportion.

Arc length / circumference = central angle / 360°

x / (2π × 7) = 100° / 360°

x = 12.2

The arc length is 12.2 inches
