If a 70kg man and a 40k boy are both running at the same velocity, who has more momentum?

Physics

Answer:

70 kg man

Explanation:

Let their velocities be v

Mass of the man= 70 kg

Hence, momentum of the man= 70v

Mass of the boy= 40 kg

Hence, momentum of the boy= 40v

70v > 40v

Clearly the momentum of the man is greater than that of the boy.

A car is traveling at an initial velocity of 25 m/s slows to a stop in 10 seconds. What is the acceleration of the car?
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

2.5 m/s^2

Explanation:

the formula for acceleration (or the one you use in this case) is a=vf-vi/t

where vf is equal to final velocity, vi is equal to initial velocity, and t is equal to time.

vf= 25 m/s

vi= 0m/s

t=10s       25-0=25, 25/10=2.5 therefore it is 2.5m/s^2

How much heat is needed to boil 5.30 kg of water at its boiling point?
vivado [14]

Answer:

Required heat Q = 11,978 KJ

Explanation:

Given:

Mass = 5.3 kg

Latent heat of vaporization of water = 2,260 KJ / KG

Find:

Required heat Q

Computation:

Required heat Q = Mass x Latent heat of vaporization of water

Required heat Q = 5.3 x 2260

Required heat Q = 11,978 KJ

Required heat Q = 12,000 KJ (Approx.)
