Answer:

The value of x  = 30°

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of first angle  = ( 2 x)

The value of the second angle  =  ( x + 30)

Now, the given angles are VERTICAL ANGLES.

Also, by the definition, the VERTICAL ANGLES ARE CONGRUENT.

So, First Angle  = Second Angle

⇒ (2 x ) = ( x + 30 )

or, 2 x  -  x = 30

⇒ x  = 30

Hence, the value of x  = 30°.

If you vertically shift the linear parent function, f(x)=x up four units , what is the equation of the new function
OverLord2011 [107]
Shifting in the y direction is as simple as adding the shift, ie.,

f(x) = x+4.

In the x direction it is trickier because then you have to replace x by (x-a) where a is the shift to the right... (but that wasn't asked here).

Ksenya-84 [330]

Answer:

y^1^2

Step-by-step explanation:

apply the rule (a) = a (y^4)=y^4

y^8y^4

apply the exponent rule

y^8y^4 = y^8^+^4

=y^8^+^4

add the numbers

8+4=12

which would make the answer

y^1^2

Pedro works as a newspaper deliverer. He receives a base pay plus an additional amount per newspaper delivered. Last week, Pedro
Gemiola [76]
Y = base pay + (variable pay * x)

37.50 = base pay + (variable pay * 5)
75 = base pay + (variable pay * 20)

let v be the variable pay:
base pay = y - variable pay * x
37.50 - 5v = 75 - 20v
-5v + 20v = 75 - 37.50
15v = 37.50
v = 37.50/15
v = 2.5

37.50 - 5(2.5) = 75 - 20(2.5)
37.50 - 12.50 = 75 - 50
25 = 25

base pay is 25 ; variable pay is 2.50 per newspaper delivered.

y = 25 + 2.50x

An insurance company insures red and green cars. An actuary compiles the following data: Color of car Red Green Number insured 3
julsineya [31]

Answer:

2.7%

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the probability of having and accident or exceed the deductible does not depend on the color of the car, the events are independent.

Recall that if two events A and B with probabilities P(A), P(B) of occurrence are independent, then

P(A ∩ B) = P(A)P(B)

There is a 300/1000 = 0.3 probability of choosing a random car. So, if the actuary randomly picks a claim from all claims that exceed the deductible,the probability that the claim is on a red car is

0.3*0.10*0.9 = 0.027 or 2.7%
