Ok so first off understand what they are saying. there is a movie on sale for $22.10 which is 15 percent of the original price. So now what you do is set up the problem.

22.10 is = 15% of the price

x = 100% of the price (original price)

<u> 15  </u> = <u>22.10
</u>100        x
<u>
</u>now just use cross multiplication.

15x = 22.10 · 100

solve for x.

<u>15x</u> = <u>2210</u>
<u /> 15       15

x = 147.33333333 since the 3's go on forever you can simply put it into a fraction

x = 147  <u>3
</u>              9
<u>
</u>whenever there is a repeating number you can put it into a fraction but putting the repeating number over a 9

Answer:

$147.33

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to solve this problem we just have to do a quick reasoning, the problem states that the movies are being sold for the 15% of their original price, so 22.10 represents the 15% of the original price, with this we can just do a rule of thirds to be able to calculate how much is the 100%.

\frac{15}{100}= \frac{22.1}{x}

Now if we just clear the x we can solve the equation for X.

x=\frac{(22.10)(100)}{15}

x=\frac{2210}{15} \\x=147.33

So the original price would be 147.33

Describe the pattern in the sequence. Find the next two terms of the difference -2, -5,-8, -11
PSYCHO15rus [73]

Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

"-3" is added to a sequence member to get the next number. This next two terms are -14 and  -17

Discussion:

Note that -2 -3 = -5 and

                -5 -3 = -8 and

                -8 - 3 = -11

"-3" is added to a sequence member to get the next number. This implies that the next two terms are -11 -3 = -14 and -14 -3 = -17
