By my understanding Pasty would be spending 2.75 less (8 - 5.25) than buying the on brand version of cereal, and if she was to be buying 4 boxes each month (which the math would be 2.75 x 4) Pasty would be saving 11 dollars a month on cereal.

25 730 to nearest thousand
Agata [3.3K]
If you round 25,730 to the nearest thousand, you should look at the digit directly before the thousands digit, which, in this case, is 7. In mathematics, if the digit is equal to or greater than 5, you should round upwards. Since 7 is greater than 5, the answer to this problem is 26,000.

Solve for p: 3/8 +p/8= 3 1/8
Ivenika [448]
Solve for p:
p/8 + 3/8 = 25/8
p/8 + 3/8 = (p + 3)/8:
(p + 3)/8 = 25/8

Multiply both sides of (p + 3)/8 = 25/8 by 8:
(8 (p + 3))/8 = (8×25)/8
(8×25)/8 = (8×25)/8:
(8 (p + 3))/8 = (8×25)/8
(8 (p + 3))/8 = 8/8×(p + 3) = p + 3:p + 3 = (8×25)/8
(8×25)/8 = 8/8×25 = 25:
p + 3 = 25

Subtract 3 from both sides:
p + (3 - 3) = 25 - 3
3 - 3 = 0:
p = 25 - 3
25 - 3 = 22:
Answer: p = 22
