In one hour, Sally can paint 1/99 of the room.
In one hour, Steve can paint 1/44 of the room.
Working together for one hour they can paint the following fraction of the room:
\frac{1}{99}+\frac{1}{44}=\frac{4+9}{396}=\frac{13}{396}
Therefore, working together, they would take 396/13 = 30.46 hours to paint the room.
The answer is: 30.46 hours.

Suppose you have rolled a six-sided die fifty times and recorded the result of each roll.
a_sh-v [17]

Using it's concept, it is found that the relative frequency  probability of rolling an even number based on this experiment is \frac{11}{25}.

A relative frequency is the <u>number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes</u>.

In this problem:

  • 50 dices are thrown, hence T = 50.
  • 22 resulted in an even number, hence D = 22

The <u>relative frequency</u> is given by:

f = \frac{D}{T} = \frac{22}{50} = \frac{11}{25}
