Answer:

Victor Emmanuel II was King of Sardinia from 1849 until 17 March 1861, when he assumed the title of King of Italy and became the first king of a united Italy since the 6th century, a title he held until his death in 1878. Upon the unification of Italy in 1860, he declared Turin the capital: in 1864 he moved the capital to Florence, and then to Rome in 1871 following the Capture of Rome.

The Italian statesman Camillo Benso, Conte di Cavour (1810-1861), devoted himself to the liberation of northern Italy from Austrian domination. A brilliant and steadfast diplomat, he played a leading role in the unification of Italy. using the tools of realpolitik, united Italy under the crown of Sardinia. ... In 1858, he formed an alliance with France, one that included a pledge of military support if necessary, against Austria, Italy's major obstacle to unification.

Why does the judicial branch, as opposed to the executive or legislative branch have the power of judicial review
ikadub [295]
They have the power of judicial review because they are supposed to be impartial and objective since they don't belong to the government or the parties. They review laws and executive acts made by the president and the congress in order to examine whether the acts are legal or in most cases whether or not they are constitutional.

Consider what you have learned about American history from the 1920s to the 1940s. How do the stories you have read in this unit
Murljashka [212]

For the period from the 1920s to the 1940s showed periods of prosperity and hardships for the United States.  The early twenties showed a period of prosperity as many people enjoyed many luxuries until the crash of the stock market which ushered the Great Depression where many people lost their jobs as well as their savings.  Yet through government programs and the resilience of the American people, they were able to overcome it.  The forties show America entered World War II where it had triumphed over the Axis Powers.  Following the end of the Second World War, ushered in another period of prosperity.  What I have learned is that through the good times and the bad, the citizens of the U.S. always weather out the storm of terrible times and triumph in the end.
