A boy bought a sandwhich 49 inches long. He want to cut it into 3 pieces. the middle piece is 5 inches longer than the shortest

piece. The shortest piece is 8 inches shorter than the longest piece . How long should the three pieces be?

(L-8)+(S+5)+L=49

2L+S=49
