Telomerase is an enzyme that is produced only in cells that are actively dividing. For this reason, it is generally absent from

body tissues in adults. Bone marrow is an exception to this rule, however, since even in adults, bone marrow cells continually divide to replace old blood cells. Cancers are another exception because their cells are rapidly dividing. True or false?

Answer: True

Explanation:

Telomerase is an enzyme that is produced in the body. It prevents the shortening of the length of telomeres.

Telomerase is not usually activated in the cells of the body but you can find them in cells responsible for the production of sperm and egg in humans.

In others for cells to keep living , the length of the telomere must be maintained and this is one of the reasons why cancer cells thrives in the body and keeps dividing and spreading because telomeres are always present in cells that keep dividing.

Telomere are very essential to growth of cancerous cells. Shortening the length of telomeres is not enough to kill cancerous cells as we have cancer cells with short length ( bone, kidney, prostate cancer). We have to combine other methods of cancer treatment to be able to eradicate the cancerous cells from the body.

Bone marrow is a body tissue where the cells are always dividing because this is crucial and essential for the replacement of old cells. In the bone marrow we can find enzyme telomerase present hence, this makes the bone marrow an exception.

What is the purpose of saline
svp [43]
Saline is used for two purposes. One it is sometimes used to wash procedure areas. Second it is used to keep a patient hydrated.

In terms of saline being used for hydration, because water diffuses through permeable membranes to areas of higher to lower concentrations they water would naturally do that in the body. This is super dangerous, if a lot of water enters the body without salt to keep the concentration balance in check. A person may overfill cells with water, and can cause dangerous organ swelling and degradation. That is the purpose of saline.
