15 toothpicks. A triangle would need 3 toothpicks. So, if you multiply 3x5, it would =15!

She needs 15 toothpicks to make 5 shapes because she used 3 toothpicks to make 1 shape. 3 times 5 is 15, therefore she need 15 toothpicks.
