The equation of the first line can be written in point-slope form as
.. y = 3(x +1) -8
or
.. 3x -y = 5

The equation of the second line can be written in 2-point form as
.. y = (-1-3)/(10-(-6))*(x +6) +3
.. y = (-1/4)(x +6) +3
or
.. x +4y = 6

A graph shows the solution to this system is (x, y) = (2, 1).

_____
The second equation can be used to write an expression for x:
.. x = 6 -4y
This can be substituted into the first equation.
.. 3(6 -4y) -y = 5
.. 18 -13y = 5 . . . . . . . collect terms
.. 13 = 13y . . . . . . . . . add 13y-5
.. 1 = y . . . . . . . . . . . . divide by 13
From the above equation for x
.. x = 6 -4*1 = 2

|z - 1| = 7z - 13 solve this equation and check for extraneous solutions
Tema [17]

|z - 1|  = 7z - 13
either:
z - 1 = 7z - 13
and in that case:
- 1 + 13 = 7z - z
12 = 6z
z = 12 \div 6 = 2
or:
z - 1 =  - 7z + 13
and in that case
z + 7z = 13 + 1
8z = 14
z = 14 \times 8 = 1.75
So; the answer is: either 2 or 1.75

Please answer this correctly without making mistakes
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

so to get a third you divide it by 3

first convert it to fraction

so it is 26/3

so do 26/3 divided by 3

so we do keep switch flip

26/3*1/3

so answer is 26/9 or 2 8/9

Drupady [299]

Step-by-step explanation:

I am not allowed to answer more than 3 questions.  So I will do the first 3.

15a. i)  (2/3) = 4/9

      ii)  (2/3) = 8/27

      iii)  (2/3) = 16/81

  b.  The product is small because you are finding the fraction of a fraction.

16.  Compared to the factors, the product is less than each fraction.  This is because, as stated above, you are trying to find a fraction (a part of the whole) of another fraction.  When you multiply a whole number by a fraction, the whole number decreases.  The same applies to a fraction.

17a.  0.4 × 0.3 = 0.12

  b.  0.4 = 4/10 = 2/5

       0.3 = 3/10

       3/10 × 2/5 = 6/50
