Elements with same number of electrons in the outermost energy shells are grouped into the same groups.
name of the group is based on the number of valence electrons in outermost shells.
A. A forms a +1 ion which means that A was in group 1 with one valence electron and to become stable it has to be give out that electron hence +1 charged. B is in group 7 with 7 valence electrons and to become stable it takes in 1 electron hence -1 charged.
this answer is incorrect

B. A has atomic number 15. then electronic configuration is 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s² 3p³. It has 5 electrons in the third shell, which means A belongs to group 5
B forms -3, for it to taken in 3 electrons and become stable it must be already having 5 electrons in the outer shell, therefore its in group 5.
both A and B are in group 5 therefore this answer is correct

C. A tends to form +2 ion which means it has 2 electrons in the shell, therefore group 2. B gains 2 electrons to become stable so it should have 6 electrons in the outer shell. B is in group 6.
this answer is incorrect.

D.if A gains one electron it should be having 7 electrons therefore A is in group 7 and B has 8 valence electrons therefore in group 8.
this answer is incorrect

correct answer is B.

Pierce conducts an experiment in which waves collide in a way that the energy increases, which means that has occurred
Vikki [24]

Answer:

It means the waves collides and constructive interference occurred.

Explanation:

If the two waves coming from the opposite direction collide with each other, there are two way of their interference.

 • Constructive interference: An interference which results in the increase in energy. And it is when crust of a wave comes on the crust of second wave.
 • Destructive interference: An interference which results in decrease in energy of the resulting wave and colliding waves cancel the result of each other.

Hence in experiment there will be constructive interference.

How is an analogy different from a metaphor
iragen [17]
An analogy is a comparison between two things
Example: banana is to yellow as red is to apple OR banana:yellow as red:apple

A metaphor is a figure of speech where a word or phrase is applied and it’s not literal.
Example: it’s raining cats and dogs. It’s not really raining literal cats and dogs. It’s just raining really hard.

A gas is heated from 263.0 K to 298.0 K and the volume is increased from 24.0 liters to 35.0 liters by moving a large piston wit
Triss [41]

Answer:

The final pressure is approximately 0.78 atm

Explanation:

The original temperature of the gas, T₁ = 263.0 K

The final temperature of the gas, T₂ = 298.0 K

The original volume of the gas, V₁ = 24.0 liters

The final volume of the gas, V₂ = 35.0 liters

The original pressure of the gas, P₁ = 1.00 atm

Let P₂ represent the final pressure, we get;

\dfrac{P_1 \cdot V_1}{T_1} = \dfrac{P_2 \cdot V_2}{T_2}

P_2 = \dfrac{P_1 \cdot V_1 \cdot T_2}{T_1 \cdot V_2}

P_2 = \dfrac{1 \times 24.0 \times 298}{263.0 \times 35.0} = 0.776969038566

∴ The final pressure P₂ ≈ 0.78 atm.
