Answer: Chilled at 5 degrees Centigrade (or colder)

Tuna, whether it was tinned, if not handled or chilled correctly can cause food poisoning. We must follow the instructions that once opened, it should be removed from the tin and should be consumed within two days.

Tuna should not be left unattended at room temperature. If you are preparing a tuna salad using canned tuna, it needs to be cooled to 5 degrees Centigrade (or colder within 4 hours.
