To find the area of a square use the formula A=lw (Area is equal to length times width) in other words multiply the side times side of just the square. Then to find the area of a triangle use the formula A= 1/2 hb ( Area is equal to half of the height times base) therefore you multiply the height times the base and then multiply it by 1/2 or 0.5 in decimal form ( or just divide by 2, either way works the same). Then add the area of the square and triangle together. (To find the height of the triangle you need to subtract 10 from 16, in other words 16-10.
