A garden would support species that can grow well in the terrestrial habitat whereas a pond would support those species that grow in an aquatic environment. A major difference between these two environments is the abundance of water. In terrestrial habitat, less amount of water is available which is usually present in the form of moisture content in the soil particles.

Garden: Lolium multiflorum (ryegrass) and Rosa indica (Rose)

Pond: Lemna gibba (duckweed) and Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes)
