your answer is negative 4 it's so simple basically for negative is that it is not really minusing the difference between positive and negative numbers is that for example: -13 - 2 so you think the answer will actually be -11 but it is not you have to add it so for this -3 but leave the three by itself but then just add one equals 4 but then you add the negative at the answer if it is minus it is addition if it is addition it is minus see opposite.

-3 - 1

= -4
