R - radius of a circle
d - diagonal of a square inscribed in a circle
a - side of a square inscribed in a circle
shaded area - area of a square inscribed in a circle

A_{circle}=r^2\pi
\\d=2r=a \sqrt{2}
\\
\\a= \frac{2r}{ \sqrt{2} } =r \sqrt{2}
\\
\\A_{square}=a^2=(r \sqrt{2} )^2=2r^2
\\
\\P= \frac{A_{square}}{A_{circle}}  = \frac{2r^2}{r^2\pi}= \frac{2}{\pi}\approx0.64\times 100\%=64\%

Can someone explain/show me how to do this?Absolute Value Functions
otez555 [7]
Domain: The values that X could take, so domain = (-∞,+∞)

Range: The values that the dependant variable, f(x), could take. Since we can't get negative numbers, it'd be range = [0,+∞)

X and Y intercepts: The points in which you touch the axis. On this case the only one is the point (0,0).

Increasing and decreasing refers to the region where the function increases or decreases. It increases on (0,∞), and decreases on (-∞,0).

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean with "transformations", at least the way you're written it. If you give me a bit more of info, I'll do my best to help :)

Please find the area of the figure!!
Murrr4er [49]

The figure consists of a rectangle and a circle.

first lets find the sides of the triangle

sides of the triangle are 4+4=8 and 3+1=4

therefore area of the rectangle is 8*4=32

now area of semicircle =πr^2/2 = π2^2/2=2π=6.3

we have to add the area of rectangle with the area of semicircle

this is because it the given figure no part of area of circle and rectangle are in common.

therefore total area of given figure = 32+6.3=38.3
