The vertex is where the parabola changes directions, or in simpler terms, at the parabolas lowest point. Unless the parabola is upside down, then the vertex is where the highest point is.

The acid of symmetry is the line where the parabola can be divided evenly. This is almost always where the vertex is, except it continues on.

The y-intercept is where the parabola intersects with the y-axis.

I’ve answered the question below in the picture (my graph is not to scale but the answers are correct for yours)

Hope this helped and good luck!!

The function s(t) represents the position of an object at time t moving along a line. Suppose s (3 )equals 156 and s (6 )equa
bixtya [17]

Answer: The average velocity of the object over the time interval [3,6] is 20.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

s(3) = 156

s(6) = 216

We need to find the average velocity over the time interval [3,6].

So, average velocity becomes

\dfrac{s(t_1)-s(t_0)}{t_1-t_0}\\\\=\dfrac{s(6)-s(3)}{6-3}\\\\=\dfrac{216-156}{3}\\\\=\dfrac{60}{3}\\\\=20

Hence, the average velocity of the object over the time interval [3,6] is 20.

A student wants to find point C on the directed line segment from A to B on a number line such that the segment is partitioned i
olganol [36]

Answer:

<u>Point C at (-18/7)</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Point A is at -6 and point B is at 2.

So, the distance between A and B = 2 - (-6) = 8

point C on the directed line segment from A to B on a number line such that the segment is partitioned in a ratio of 3:4.

Let the distance AC = x

∴ BC = 8 - x

AC : CB = 3 : 4

∴\frac{AC}{CB} =\frac{3}{4} = \frac{x}{8-x}

Using cross multiplication

3 (8-x) = 4x

24 - 3x = 4x

24 = 7x

x = 24/7

So, Point C = -6 + 24/7 = -18/7

Point C at (-18/7)
